Since I am new to this site I might as well see how my discussion goes. Personally, my very first impression of the AA program was, "what a bunch of nut jobs". Although this feeling quickly subsided after my first meeting. I pretty much sat in silence for my first few meetings, but always felt welcome. Nobody cared that I didn't say anything as they realized that it is hard to open up at first. I eventually started opening up and when I did, it got so much better. I was amazed that any of my questions could be answered and many people could relate to my experience. I am truly grateful for this program and all it has to offer, so to all my fellow alcoholics/addicts, I would like to say Thank You!

Haven't had the nerve yet to get to a meeting, but really going to try this week! I am not doing too bad I have had a few setbacks in the last year and a half but need people to talk to when I get anxious as my waistline can't take much more!
You should be very proud of yourself for being so courageous in actually getting to a meeting.
