I would like to propose a question to the forum: In your opinion, what is real sobriety?

Let me know Im interested in what sobriety means to you.

Real Sobriety to me is a 'spiritual state of abstinence'. At first, no one is really sober, we just abstain. I was told to stop drinking and keep coming back. Ludicrous, I thought, but I had resolved myself to try it their way this time. Only when my spirit started to rise within and fill the void, did I actually begin to understand the severity of my situation. At that point, sobriety began to settle in, and ultimately took over once I started to get out of myself and help others. For me, sobriety can only exist for me when I turn my life over to that ethereal being that I call God.
